1419 relies on the support of its community of emerging artists.
We believe that a student-led network of artists empowered to initiate new and experimental work creates value in and for the broader arts community on a scale from neighborhood to nation.
We've always believed that accessibility is essential to our mission of creating opportunities for artists and audiences. This is why nearly every event at 1419 is, and will continue to be, free.
To continue to be able to make this work, we need your support.
Donating is super easy; it takes about 3 minutes.
In the last year 1419 has experienced tremendous success and growth, demonstrated by recognition in the press, audiences in excess of 400 for single events, and a number of individual grants and awards. We’ve hosted over 100 different events, performances, exhibitions, concerts, discussions, workshops, and more. Our community extends to the greater Twin Cities area, including students from Macalester, Augsburg, MCAD, St. Thomas, and the University of Minnesota, as well as representatives of the larger artist communities in the metro area.

The organizational aspect of 1419 is developing considerably—we are administrated by a board that meets regularly to assess proposals for the space, plan events and programs, develop strategies for sustainability, discuss ways to strengthen and support the community, and create partnerships with artists and organizations both within the Twin Cities area and nationally.
As part of our growth as a community and an organization, 1419 has begun to rent the entirety of our downtown Minneapolis storefront space. This move has enabled us to make much-needed repairs to the building, to accommodate larger events, and to sustain our journey towards a place in the center of the greater arts community. It has also meant that our rent has nearly tripled.
To keep our events free and our rent paid, we need to generate income otherwise--and that's where you come in.
